TAX SEASON IS HERE. HAVE YOU SEEN THIS TAX SCAM?
As you get ready to file your taxes please be aware that there are devious minds at work, plotting to steal your hard-earned money. They have developed clever methods to fool you into thinking you are dealing with the IRS. As a result, the IRS has issued the following warning:
"In a variation, an e-mail scam claims to come from the IRS and the Taxpayer Advocate Service (a genuine and independent organization within the IRS whose employees assist taxpayers with unresolved tax problems). The e-mail says that the recipient is eligible for a tax refund and directs the recipient to click on a link that leads to a fake IRS Web site. The IRS recommends that recipients do not click on links in, or open any attachments to, e-mails they receive that are unsolicited or that come from unknown sources." Source
I recently received an email "supposedly" from the IRS. Check out this scam.

Apparel Is Largest and Fastest-Growing Retail Category Online
NEW YORK, NY (August 27, 2007)–Sales of apparel are the largest and fastest-growing US online retail category. Convenience and finding bargains remain consumers' key motivations for buying apparel online. At the same time, several surveys show many consumers prefer buying clothing in a store.
According to eMarketer's report "US Apparel E-Commerce," the percent of apparel sales transacted online has increased and will continue to increase due to a range of factors including: wider broadband adoption, more women online, greater confidence in online purchases, consumer-friendly policies and better tools for product visualization.
Forrester Research estimates that online sales will reach $22.1 billion in 2007, up 21% over 2006. Continue
